The immortality of fashion trends can be mind-numbing. All it really takes is one of your favorite celebrities to bring up an already dead fashion trend and boom, it’s trendy again. So keep all your outdated clothes, you just might get fashionable in the not-so-distant future.

Designers have flaunted the cutout dress style in recent runways, making it appear as though it were a new style despite the fact that it has been in existence for a long time. Back in 2014, cutout outfits were a thing to talk about, there were even tips on workout routines that could help you fit into a cutout dress.
In 2007 the Brazilian model, Ana Beatriz Barros modeled in a pink cutout dress at the sports illustrated swimsuit issue party, and other celebrities have also appeared in different versions of the style at events. Now in 2021, it’s back!
The idea that many designers had in bringing cutouts back was for the style to serve as a type of casual evening wear perhaps, but bolder designers stepped out of their comfort zone and dared to make it fit as a work outfit as well. That would mean daytime, flashing lights, and all eyes on you as you slay in the trendy style. The cutout is great for showing off some skin without the risk of appearing too provocative or forward.

It gives you the opportunity to be a little bit edgy and glamorous at the same time. It is a worthwhile fashion statement. Designers considered this idea while weaving up the style as a possible workplace outfit. But this type of reasoning is really mostly in theory because, in reality, people just want to wear something that they look good in and is trendy. This is especially true when your favorite celeb also rocks the style.
As cutouts started getting reintroduced on several runways in 2021 and were even becoming a major runway trend, celebrities like the supermodel Bella Hadid, the actress Zendaya and Kim Kardashian have rekindled the fire of the style as they display even more creative ways to rock a cutout outfit.

Quite interesting to see also was when Zendaya pulled off a custom Valentino yellow gown at the Oscars that was cut out from underneath the bust, saying a big yes to the already trending style.

Kim Kardashian was also spotted in Paris wearing an almost $500 Barragán Amarre Dress that was cut out and revealing slices of her hips. With this much hype around the trend, cutouts are definitely going to be everywhere this summer. The question is, will they also be on you?
