Being a track and field sprinter is no easy task, but take one look at Allyson Felix in action, and you'll think it's the easiest thing in the world. Felix is an American track and field sprinter who has nine medals to her name; she joined the sport in 2003 and has been unstoppable in her quest to make history.
It is no surprise that she also scored a position on Time Magazine's 100 Most Influential People in 2021. Allyson continues to inspire as she kept up with her workout during the pandemic for the Olympics in Tokyo, despite being a mother. Her hard work and dedication led her to qualify for the 400 m during the Olympic trials.
Start of Something New
However, this might be the last time that her audience will see her compete. According to USA Today, the athlete plans on retiring before the next Olympics as she wants to focus on mom duties. Luckily, though, this won’t be the last time you’ll hear from Felix.
She had her daughter in 2018 while she had an ongoing sponsorship with the brand Nike. Still, unfortunately, the company could not support Felix, and she mentioned that she felt discriminated against. This led to the sponsorship deal getting canceled and Allyson Felix's own shoe brand to something even greater.
Say Hello to ‘Saysh’
Saysh is Allyson’s shoe brand that focuses on athleisure wear, including sneakers that are comfortable and just as stylish. If you are looking for a great pair of sneakers, the Saysh line is available for pre-order, and they are priced at $150. Felix states that she wants her brand to represent comfort, style, and prioritize performance.
Saysh Represents You
She also mentioned that athletic footwear is usually built concerning men's dynamics and then recolored and reshaped to be sold for women. Saysh is providing footwear that is solely created keeping athletic women in mind, be it their true proportions or needs in a shoe. The brand plans and hopes to give comfort to women through shoe wear that caters to the requirements of women.
Felix took a bad experience and turned it into something inspirational, from a brand sponsorship to a new brand made by women for women. And you know what? Allyson is not stopping there. She plans on continuing the work by creating a community for women in sports to celebrate and own the sports arena. We don't know about you, but we can't wait for this.
