Meet the Whole New Britney

Everyone remembers Britney Spears, she is the iconic singer behind hits like Baby One More Time and Oops!… I Did It Again. Spears has always been a big part of pop culture, and even now, people are shocked to still witness the impact this singer has created in Hollywood and worldwide. However, it was not long after that Britney Spears was subjected to numerous scandals and negative publicity, which led to the conservatorship.

In the year 2019, the star decided to legally have the conservatorship removed. It led to the creation of the #FreeBritney movement, and on 12 November 2021, Britney won.

Down with Diane Sawyer

\\n

It is no secret that female celebrities in Hollywood are treated quite differently; they are subjected to absurdly personal questions, and sometimes, hosts and interviewers tend to cross boundaries. A similar thing happened with Britney in 2003 when she had recently dealt with a public breakup with Justin Timberlake. At that time, 21-year-old Britney was forced to sit in front of Sawyer in Spear’s apartment.

In a candid Instagram post, the mother of 2 revealed that she was not in the right mental space during the interview and she hadn’t communicated with anyone since the breakup. Spears called Sawyer out for trying to blame young Britney and constantly pushing that narrative throughout the interview. She also mentioned that Sawyer made her cry.
