It would be an understatement to say that the world was shocked when the trailer was released for the movie Spencer starring Kristen Stewart as Princess Diana. What was once criticized and despised became one of the most anticipated projects and it has already created the Oscar buzz. The American actress shared photos during filming which showed Stewart in attire inspired by the late Princess.

This isn’t Kristen’s first challenge. The actress has been in the acting industry since she was 9 years old and she made her impact at age 12 when she appeared in Panic Room. She later went on to star in Speak, Catch that Kid, and Into the Wild. Her acting career sky-rocketed when she starred as Bella Swan in the film series Twilight. Since then, Stewart has been taking up high-profile roles and exploring different genres.

Since the release of the trailer, Kristen Stewart has been busy promoting her new film, for which she also sat down with The Daily Mail. When talking about her similarities with Princess Diana, the actress made a comment stating the fact that she regretted that she is not a mother and despite being almost the same age as Princess Diana in 1991, she was unable to do justice to that part. Stewart went on to add that when filming, it was that one aspect that she felt disconnected from.
The movie follows the life of Princess Diana when she joins the British royal family for Christmas of 1991. It also features Prince William and Prince Harry, who were 15 and 12 respectively, when they lost their mother. It was reported that during filming, Stewart took extra time to bond with her young co-stars who will play the role of the little princes. The film’s director also wanted to build the connection between the 3 so that the scenes would look natural to the viewers.
Untouchable Princess
Kristen Stewart also sat down with the Los Angeles Times and spoke about Princess Diana’s protective behavior toward her children. The Twilight actress stated that when she looked into the late Princess’s interviews or pictures, it was evident that the Princess was a force to be reckoned with. This has also been translated into Kristen Stewart’s portrayal of Princess Diana.
